In this page, we introduce an example of our in vivo-research.
(a)
Mice were exposed to IT1 vapor, cigarette smoke or filtered air for 6 months, and the effects on the lungs (Alveolar destruction index) were compared.
Result
The effect on the lungs by IT 1 were comparable to that of filtered air.
(b)
Mice were exposed to cigarette smoke for 2 months, then split into three groups where they were exposed to different conditions: “switching to IT 1 vapor”, “switching to filtered air” and “continuing cigarette smoke”. The effects on the lungs were compared after exposure to different conditions for 4 months.
Result
Switching from cigarette smoke to IT 1 vapor had a significantly lower effect on the lungs than continuing cigarette smoke, and the level of reduction was comparable to that of switching to filtered air.
This research was conducted in compliance with GLP at an external laboratory certified by AAALAC.
